Galena Apartments is a landmark 54-unit, all-electric workforce housing development and NHPF’s first in Colorado. It will provide long-term, income-restricted homes for essential workers and families earning up to 120% AMI, including units reserved for municipal employees.
Galena Apartments is a first-of-its-kind middle-income housing community in Colorado, located on a site previously used for emergency overnight parking for unhoused workers. Thanks to an innovative public-private collaboration, the new development will provide long-term, energy-efficient housing to those who keep rural resort communities running. NHPF guaranteed the MIHA issued bonds using its AA- credit rating—marking the first time a nonprofit has used its credit rating to support new workforce housing construction in Colorado.
