Galena Apartments

Trailblazing Workforce Housing in the Colorado Mountain Region

Galena Apartments is a thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient community in the heart of Frisco, Colorado, created to provide long-term, income-restricted housing for local workforce households earning up to 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Located just steps from Frisco’s vibrant Main Street, the 54-unit development includes studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartment homes across three stories.

Responding to a critical housing shortage in Summit County, Galena Apartments prioritizes those who serve the community—EMTs, teachers, home health aides, retail workers, and childcare providers—many of whom have faced vehicular homelessness due to rising housing costs and limited availability.

Residents will benefit from on-site parking, sustainable all-electric construction built to Zero Energy Ready Home standards, and easy access to year-round recreation, transit, and employment hubs. Frisco’s major job centers, medical offices, restaurants, and grocery stores are within walking distance, and the region’s resort destinations—Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, and Keystone—are easily accessible by public transit.

Galena Apartments represents a groundbreaking collaboration between The NHP Foundation and the Town of Frisco, made possible through a mix of public-private financing and innovative use of 501(c)(3) bonds. It marks NHPF’s first development in Colorado and the first to be executed under the state’s new Middle Income Housing Authority.
