BRETT W. RUBY

Mr. Ruby joined The NHP Foundation in 2021. As a member of the development group, he is responsible for the full scope of affordable housing development, including site feasibility, developing capital and operating budgets, raising public and private debt and equity, and overseeing teams of design, engineering, and construction professionals.

Prior to joining NHPF, Mr. Ruby served as Assistant Vice President with the Stratford Capital Group’s development arm, SCG Development Partners, where he was responsible for financial underwriting, due diligence review, and managing the closing of land assemblage acquisitions and affordable housing development transactions. He is licensed to practice law in Maryland and previously served as underwriting counsel in Stewart Title Guaranty Company’s commercial services division.

Mr. Ruby is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute. He received a B.A. from the University of Maryland College Park and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
