Lauren Avioli joined NHPF in 2021 as a Project Manager based in Houston, TX. She is passionate about helping the community recover from Hurricane Harvey and prepare against future disasters by creating more resilient, affordable housing across the region.
Prior to joining NHPF, Ms. Avioli worked as the Director of Housing Development for SBP, Inc, a national disaster recovery nonprofit and housing developer. At SBP, she oversaw a variety of rehab and new construction projects in Louisiana and Texas, ranging from multifamily rental to single family homeownership. Ms. Avioli also served in the public sector, working for several years for the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Department where she assisted developers with affordable housing incentive programs and drafted affordable housing policy.
Ms. Avioli earned her Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin, and her Bachelors in Urban Studies from the College of Charleston. Her certifications include the American Planning Association’s American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the National Development Council’s Housing Development Finance Professional.
