MICHAEL D. SIMON, Development Manager
Michael D. Simon joined The NHP Foundation in 2018. As a member of the acquisitions and development group, he manages development and preservation efforts. He is responsible for the full scope of affordable housing development, including site feasibility, entitlements, managing development and operating budgets, raising debt and equity, and overseeing teams of design and construction professionals.
Simon has more than 17 years of professional experience in the affordable housing industry. Before joining NHPF, he worked at several of the industry’s leading public accounting firms and has extensive tax and accounting experience with mixed-use tax credit and tax-exempt-bond financed developments.
Simon earned a B.S. in Business Administration-Accounting from San Diego State University and a master’s in real estate development from Georgetown University. Simon is also a Capstone Advisor at Georgetown University.
