A piece of Washington, DC history has come alive with The Strand Residences—a recently completed 86-unit affordable housing development—located next to the legendary Strand Theater in DC‘s Deanwood neighborhood. The Strand features one and two-bedroom apartment homes equipped with washers and dryers in every apartment and gourmet kitchens, including dishwashers and microwaves.

Residents can also enjoy amenities including a fitness center, a private courtyard with a grilling station, a cyber cafe, package lockers, and a resident services coordinator.

The Strand Theater, built in the early 1920s to service the fledgling, but growing motion picture industry is now The Strand, a restaurant from DC-based Fish & Fire Food group, serving pizza, sandwiches, and other entrees.
